The Forest Chasm is a long river that runs through a jungle (misleading name haha) with trees that are tightly knitted together. It is great for hunting smaller animals.

._. / Rysa heard the soft humming of the nearby streams and birds up in the trees. Moving her brown paws across the land, she looked around for any prey or other wolf. There were only two wolves in Dakota, and she didn't know the other one all that well.
She pulled into a stop as she almost dashed off a rock into the river. Taking a step back, her twin orbs looked into the white and blue water. Sitting on the ledge, she listened to the lulls of the forest.

He hadn't seen anyone for awhile. Ocelli stuck out his tongue and gave a disgruntled look, the are-you-kidding-me-why-is-nobody-here look, to be exact. He was tired of being alone, he missed goofing off with everybody around, and quite frankly didn't like being alone. Ocelli kept his tongue out as he walked around, just looking at the tall trees and trying to wiggle off caught bugs that landed on his loll. His nose twitched on occasion when he tried to sniff out the others scents, and his ears perked when he caught one. It was faint, but he knew the smell.

"RYSAAAAAA!" He called out excitedly, galloping away and over the tree roots. Someone was there, he finally caught somebody's scent. Ocelli proceeded to not look where he was going, and just as he caught sight of the female, his paws gnarled into the tree roots, making his graceful jumping entrance into a big clutzy roll onto the ground in front of her, taking half a bush with him. He laid there on the ground for a moment, his legs splayed out around him, his back paw covered in vines. Ocelli gave off a lighthearted giggle and stood, shaking his back paw to get the stuff off.

However shaking didn't very well work. His stood there, looking at her as he tried to get it off, and as his attempts failed, he turned his head to look back at his leg. Ocelli sat on his haunches, and pulled his foot up to his mouth, trying to bite off the twisty vines. With his mouth full he laughed and gave an exhausted breath. "It took long enough to pick up on your scent!"

"Holy mother of-"
Rysa took a step back when something shrieked her name and toppled into a heap on the ground, paws covered in gnarled roots. If she could facepalm herself, she would. Realising it was Ocelli, she let out a sigh of relief. If it was an infected... she'd be eaten for it's dinner. Or lunch. Or whatever time it was for Infected right now.
"...chickens"
Finishing off her sentence, she pawed at the half bush caught to his back paw, somewhat helping pull it off until he took it in his mouth. He started to giggle, mouth full, and she joined in with him. With gnarled, broken vines in his mouth and him giggling, he looked and sounded hilarious.

Pushing some bush - the quartar that had fallen off when he had toppled out in front of her - off the rock ledge and into the water, she giggled once more and looked at him.
"I was looking for you - kinda"
Rysa said, cuffing his shoulder with her paw playfully.

He opened his mouth lazily and let the vines drop out, a disgusting taste left on his tongue. He clacked it a few times to get the sour wood off his tastebuds, and he gave a sly look to Rysa. "Since when are chickens Holy?" He tromped over to the stream and plunged his head in the water, flinging his pink tongue all over- the taste was still ever present. He eventually had to pop up for air though, and he brought a whole lotta water with him. Presently, he shook out his coat in the boyish way he always did- starting rump first and working forward to his head.

He perked his ears excitedly and tapped her nose playfully and lightly with his paw. Ocelli gave a quick grin and dove to the ground, rolling onto his back, his head tilted in an innocent way. "You were looking for me?" His paw crossed his chest dramatically. He cut the act and looked at her with inquisition. "What's up?"

"Nunu, I said the mother of chickens was holy - not the actual chickens! They're just yummy"
Rysa said, sitting down and patting her stomach with a single paw. She licked her lips and placed her paw back on the ground as he rolled onto his belly, flipping his head over so it was on the ground, looking at her (right?). She lay down on her stomach and looked at him from the same angle.
"Yeah, of course I was looking for you! It gets boring here, ya know. But there are no adults either... more fun, no food"
The hyper female said, poking her tongue out and rolling onto her back, pretending to be dead from starvation.

"... more fun, no food"

Ocelli almost winched at that comment, but he told himself not to. He, in fact, hadn't eaten in over a week. He wasn't the kind of wolf who could bring down big prey, he wasn't strong. He was small and had lanky legs yes, but he was too clumsy to bring down a rabbit. All in all- he was pretty useless in any food gathering activity he did. And he didn't like it- not one bit.

Ocelli was still on his back, and he reached out and poked Rysa's nose with his paw, his tongue out again. (Seriously Ocelli, enough with the tongue D<) His voice was soft, lost its quality of laughter. "Maybe we can ask the other packs to help..." He didn't like the idea, the other packs... Were quite frankly, scarier. They were the older fellows, stronger, smarter... deadlier. The full Novas could rip either of them apart in seconds, and even the regular wolves had the numbers against them. His eyes closed as a small chuckle escaped his mouth. "Or we could just eat grass like deer." He pretended to chew cud, crossing his eyes and moving his jaw in that goofy circular motion.

Other packs?
Rysa blinked. They were big. And scary. And some of them were infected. Swallowing, she looked at Ocelli, biting her bottom lip gently. She rolled her eyes playfully when he touched her nose with his paw and watched with a giggle as he ate like a deer or a cow.
"Imma pretty dear"
She said in a sing songy voice, getting up and prancing around, eyes half closed like a deer. She giggled and toppled over onto Ocelli after tripping on a loose piece of rock.
"Whoops - sorry!"
Rysa giggled, getting out of the heap of two... little wolves. With a yawn, she poked his chest with her paw.
"What about fish? There's a lake right there with plently! Mumma and papa used to... hunt them for... me"
Her voice quieted at the end. Mumma and papa. She held back the tears that glistened in her eyes and turned around, hiding them. She plodded over to the river and plopped her rump next to it, ready to catch any fish, but first she wiped that annoying tear from her eye.

Forest Chasm Empty Re: Forest Chasm

Post  Ocelli Tue Jan 01, 2013 2:07 am

Ocelli's ears flicked back when Rysa started talking about her parents. He felt guilty, making her talk about them. His own, he didn't want to revisit the memory, so he quickly stood and plodded over to Rysa- distracting himself.

And distracting himself he did. He overstepped his bounds, sitting down where he didn't have a foothold. The rocks tumbled below him. Ocelli slid violently into the water, being whisked away just a couple feet downstream in the swift current. His nose crinkled in self-disgust as flashes of silver sprinted away from them. "There goes that option." He said mournfully. The water was cold, but he didn't care, he just sat there, disappointed in himself. Sometimes the clumsiness was to a fault, and this was one of those times.

They were both hungry, and young, and as a boy he did want to provide for Rysa- yes. He just didn't know how. Ocelli trudged up the bank, his fur hanging off him like dying leaves on trees in autumn. He sat down next to her, his eyes downcast. "Sorry." He mumbled. He looked pitiful, skinny, wet, cold. Ocelli just wanted a moment's break from trying to make things look better, because in their position it was turning out to be dire.

"It's fine"
Rysa said, licking some water from his ear. She looked around at the trees, wondering what they should do. The other packs would surely help them... right? Some of them were nice... most of them were... pausing, she took a deep breath and sighed.
"We should go to the other packs... just not the one with the slobbery infected wolves"
She shivered, looking at him.

(Short post is short)

Ocelli nodded mutely, still dripping. He really didn't want to. The other wolves, infected or not, were still very scary to two younger ones like themselves. He didn't like it, but he wasn't about to complain.

Ocelli stood, and shook out his fur again, in that backwards wiggly fashion that started with his rump first. When he stopped shaking, his fur poofed out like a baby birds. He gave a goofy grin, pawing at his ear in embarrassment. "Alright then, let's go!" He said, a little too happily. He didn't want Rsya to be scared of going, and with all of his power he was going to make sure she didn't worry.

Rysa wasn't worried. The other pack didn't seem bad, yet the infected... brrr. She shivered and galloped after Ocelli with a giggle. This was going to be fun. Meeting new wolves. Having food for once!
